The 3rd World Conference on Engineering Thermochemistry (WCETC 2025) was opened in Singapore with presentations from multiple plenary/keynote speakers covering topics including decarbonization, microwave heating, and carbon technologies. The conference featured presentations on various technological advancements, including research on energy storage, industrial decarbonization, and biochar technology, with some sessions available for remote participation via Zoom. The event concluded with an awards ceremony honoring three winners and included details about transportation and dinner arrangements.

 The 3rd World Conference on Engineering Thermochemistry (WCETC 2025) was opened by Professor Chi-Hwa Wang, who welcomed attendees to Singapore and introduced the conference’s organizing committee and scientific committee members. The conference features multiple plenary/keynote speakers and presentations across various venues at NUS, with a lab tour scheduled for July 29th and an awards ceremony honoring three winners: Professor Hermann Hofbauer, Dr. Chenxi Zhang, and Assistant Professor Yaxuan Jing. The conversation ended with details about transportation logistics and dinner arrangements. 

 The meeting focused on setting up audio-visual equipment and testing systems for a conference, with various participants testing their ability to be heard despite some technical difficulties. Professor Guangwen Xu delivered a lecture on thermochemical engineering’s role in innovation and sustainability, followed by Professor Tony Bi’s presentation about the World Society of Engineering Thermochemistry and its mission to promote research and knowledge exchange in the field. The conversation ended with the presentation of society awards to recognize researchers’ contributions, followed by an announcement about the next conference to be held in 2026 at the University of Cambridge.
